Finished jewelry
Finished jewelry was not exempt from the reciprocal tariff and paid the origin country's rate. India, a major source, paid a 25 percent reciprocal rate from August 7, 2025, plus an additional 25 percent IEEPA duty from August 27, 2025, which was removed from February 7, 2026. Both are IEEPA duties.
Gold bars in 2025
- A CBP ruling reported in August 2025 treated 1-kilogram and 100-ounce gold bars as subject to the reciprocal tariff, which for Swiss bars meant 39 percent at the time.
- An order effective September 8, 2025 added bullion-related articles to Annex II, exempting them from the reciprocal tariff going forward.
- Gold bars entered before September 8, 2025 that paid reciprocal duty may carry refundable IEEPA duty. Check the HTS code and entry date.
