CBP published an interim final rule on January 2, 2026 moving refunds to electronic payment. From February 6, 2026, CBP issues refunds by ACH, with limited exceptions, and told importers to enroll by February 5.
- Refunds due to importers with no bank information on file are rejected and do not accrue interest.
